ATTAP Arbor Day 2026 Strengthens Commitment to Environmental Stewardship, Sustainable Tourism
As part of the celebration of its 30th Anniversary, the Alliance of Travel and Tour Agencies of Pampanga (ATTAP) successfully conducted its ATTAP Arbor Day 2026 Project on June 20, 2026, in Barangay La Paz Turu, Arayat, Pampanga, reaffirming its commitment to environmental conservation, sustainable tourism, and community engagement.
ATTAP members, guests, family and friends planted 500 timber seedlings foothills of the majestic Mount Arayat in Barangay La Paz Turu, Arayat, Pampanga.

The project was initiated by ATTAP Ex-Officio Mr. Joel Sarmiento, who spearheaded the organization’s first Arbor Day activity on October 11, 2025, at Banal na Bundok, Ayala, Magalang, Pampanga.
Building on the success of that pioneering initiative, ATTAP has continued the project as part of its long-term commitment to environmental stewardship.

Cristina Garcia, the current President of ATTAP, together with the Board of Directors and all members, strongly believes in continuing the vision started by Mr. Joel Sarmiento and transforming it into a lasting ATTAP legacy.
As members of the tourism industry, we have a responsibility not only to promote destinations but also to help protect and preserve the environment while advocating for sustainable tourism. Through tree-planting and environmental activities, we are giving back to Mother Earth and contributing to a greener and healthier future.
This project is our way of ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy the beauty of our natural resources. By planting trees today, we are helping create a better environment, cleaner air, and a more sustainable Earth for everyone. It is a small step that can make a lasting impact on our communities and the world we leave behind for the next generation.

As ATTAP marks its 30 years of service to the tourism industry, the Arbor Day Project serves as a meaningful milestone that reflects the organization’s enduring commitment not only to tourism development but also to environmental responsibility.
It embodies ATTAP’s belief that true progress in tourism must go hand in hand with the preservation of the natural resources that make destinations attractive and sustainable. ATTAP extends its heartfelt gratitude to its approximately 50 members, whose unwavering support made the project a success.

The event was made even more meaningful as many members were joined by their families and friends, demonstrating a shared commitment to environmental responsibility and community involvement.
Special recognition is also given to Mr. Joel Sarmiento, ATTAP Ex-Officio, for his leadership, vision, and dedication in spearheading this environmental initiative.
The organization likewise expresses its sincere appreciation to its valued partners and supporters: Mr. Roger V. Encarnacion, RPF Officer-in-Charge, PENRO Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) – PENRO San Antonio, Guagua, Pampanga COL KRIS B. ATTAP also extends its gratitude to the Zonta Club of Pampanga and the DOT-Accredited Community Tour Guides for joining and supporting the activity. Their support and participation significantly contributed to the success of the project and highlighted the importance of collaboration in environmental conservation efforts. More than a tree-planting activity, ATTAP Arbor Day represents a collective commitment to creating a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future. Every tree planted serves as a living legacy that future generations will benefit from and enjoy.
Through initiatives such as this, ATTAP continues to promote environmental responsibility, sustainable tourism, and community participation, proving that the tourism sector can play an active role in protecting and preserving the natural resources that make destinations worth visiting.
Together, let us continue nurturing these trees, protecting ourbenvironment, and making a positive difference…one tree at a time.bFor Mother Earth, for future generations, and for a more sustainable tomorrow. “30 Years of Tourism Excellence, One Lasting Legacy for the Environment.”
