CDC donates assistive devices to PDAO–AC
CLARK FREEPORT – The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) recently donated various assistive devices to the members of the Persons with Disability Affairs Office of Angeles City (PDAO–AC).
In a simple ceremony organized by CDC–External Affairs Department (EAD), CDC President and CEO Manuel R. Gaerlan and CDC Vice President for Administration and Finance Mariza Mandocdoc presented the assistive materials to PDAO-AC Disability Affairs Officer II Alma Vital.
The donations include 18 assistive devices such as wheelchairs and crutches, which will help the PWDs carry out everyday tasks and actively engage in community life.
In her speech, Vital thanked the CDC for its continuous support to their sector and organization.
“Lubos po kaming nagagalak sa tulong at sa pagbibigay pansin sa aming sector. Ilang years na rin po yan na laging nabibigyan ng CDC ng mga assistive devices ang PDAO Angeles City. Malaking tulong po sa amin ang mga assistive devices na nanggagaling po sa inyo (CDC), lalo na po para sa mga bata. Gusto po naming maipamulat na kahit may kapansanan kami kailangan makisalamuha rin po sa iba. Alam po naming malaking tulong itong mga assistive devices na ito para sa amin. Maraming maraming salamat po,” she said.
Meanwhile, Gaerlan encouraged the members of PDAO-AC to maintain a positive outlook in life despite the challenges that they face every day. He said that the CDC hopes to uplift their lives through the various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs of the state-owned firm.
“Ito po ay kasama sa programa ng CDC na kahit papano ay makatulong tayo sa mga physically challenged individuals. Nandito tayo ngayon at nagtutulong tulong. Kung ano man ang nakakayanan ng CDC na maitulong sa ating mga kababayan na may kapansanan, sana makapagpa improve ito sa inyong mga nararamdaman. Through our help, ninanais namin na maibsan ang inyong paghihirap kahit konti,” he added.
Also present during the event were CDC–EAD Assistant Vice President Rommel Narciso, EAD Assistant Manager Ronald Antonio, CDC Capacity Building Officer III Agnes L. Matias, Community Relations and Social Services Officer III Armin Rivera, and other EAD personnel and PDAO-AC members.
Aside from the said project, the CSR program of CDC dubbed as “Clark Cares” also creates activities that involve health, employment, livelihood, partnership, and other special projects.
