ANGELES CITY — Three former Presidents of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) in this city have pledged their support for the candidacy of Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. for Pampanga First District Representative.

First District,” said Orlando ‘Orling’ Angeles, who served as ABC President from 1994 to 1997.

Joseph ‘Jojo’ Dimapilis, ABC President from 2010 to 2014, also expressed his support.

Meanwhile, Alejandrino, who served as ABC President from 2018 to 2023 — coinciding with Lazatin’s first term as City Mayor — said, “I have witnessed Mayor’s Pogi’s first term as City Mayor, and I fully support his candidacy this time for Congressman.”

“In fact, ako po ang isa sa nag-nominate kay Mayor Pogi as an awardee of Most Outstanding Kapampangan in Goverment Service in 2023 dahil naniniwala ako sa kanyang kakayahan at dedikasyon sa serbisyo publiko,” Alejandrino added.

Angeles, Dimapilis, and Alejandrino were all in attendance during the lunch time gathering held on July 4, 2024 at Century Hotel, this city, where Lazatin announced his candidacy to the former Barangay Officials.

During the gathering, Lazatin reiterated the core tenet of his legislative agenda — ‘no one will be left behind’ — and assured the former Barangay Officials that he will endeavor to reach all sectors of society with his service.

Lazatin’s legislative agenda highlights seven main areas: Health; Economy and Livelihood; Vulnerable and Marginalized Sectors (Children, Youth, Women, Senior Citizens, Persons with Disability (PWDs), Solo Parents, and LGBTQ); Environment; Education; Transportation; and Barangays.
