Capitol, DOLE boost livelihood opportunities for  Kapampangans 

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The provincial government of Pampanga headed by Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda in cooperation with the Department of Labor and Emoployment (DOLE) distributed livelihood grants to indigent Kapampangans through the help of the agency’s Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program.

Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and officials from DOLE led the distribution of assistance to seven groups of solo parents and indigent residents in ceremonies held at the Benigno Hall, Capitol Compound on Friday, June 21.

Beneficiaries include individuals from the towns of Sta. Ana, Bacolor, Sasmuan, Candaba, Guagua, San Simon, and Floridablanca. Each group, comprising no more than ten members received 51 sacks (25kg each) of rice to support the establishment of community-based businesses called “Bigasan sa Barangay” in their respective towns.

SKILLS LIVELIHOOD PROGRAM

The event coincided with the distribution of allowances to 189 individuals who completed various skills training programs facilitated by the Provincial Manpower and Training Center (PMTC).

Participants received training in caregiving, housekeeping, electrical installation and maintenance, domestic refrigeration and air conditioning, call center operations, and dressmaking.

Each  trainee received P 3,000 allowance  upon completion of their respective 20-day to 6-month training courses.

According to the vice governor, this initiative reflects the administration’s ongoing commitment to strengthening community members through skill development and economic opportunities.
