Lazatin to provide paints, cement to public schools for Brigada Eskwela
ANGELES CITY—Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. will personally donate paint materials and cement bags to the city’s 54 public schools as part of the Brigada Eskwela this August, using his own salary.
Mayor Lazatin is set to provide each school with two buckets of paint, four paint rollers and five bags of cement to assist public schools in their cleanup and restoration activities for the upcoming school year.
“Mahalaga po na mapanatiling maayos ang kundisyon ng ating mga paaralan para maenganyong matuto ang mga estudyante,” Mayor Lazatin said.
Staying true to his advocacy to further the quality of education in Angeles City, it has been a tradition of Mayor Lazatin to donate construction materials to public schools yearly since he entered public service in 2013 as a city councilor.
“Mananatili pong edukasyon ang mangunguna sa ating listahan tungo sa paag-unlad,” Lazatin said.
Department of Education (DepEd) Angeles City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Ronaldo Pozon, meanwhile expressed his gratitude to Mayor Lazatin for being accommodating to the needs of the education sector in Angeles City.
“Mayor Lazatin’s initiative to support the Angeleño learners has always been generous, and is always more than what we ask for,” Pozon said.
“Estudyante man o guro, nakikinabang sa mga inisyatibong ito ni Mayor Lazatin para sektor ng edukasyon,” Pozon Added.
To recall, Mayor Lazatin announced the city government’s major project to reinforce the education system of Angeles City during his most recent State of the City Address (SOCA) on June 29, 2023 where a total of P200-M will be allocated to establish state-of-the-art computer laboratories in all 54 public schools in Angeles City to equip students with technology skills needed for today’s globally-competitive set-up.
