74 Clark locators join CDC’s 27th recyclables event

CLARK FREEPORT— A total of 74 locators inside this Freeport recently participated in the 27th Recyclables and Hazardous Waste Collection Event (RHWCE) organized by Clark Development Corporation (CDC) in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Environmental Management Bureau (EMB), the Environmental Practitioners’ Association, Inc. (EPA), and other environmental service partners.
During the event, CDC President and CEO, Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, emphasized the significance of promoting environmentally friendly initiatives. In addition, she thanked the event’s organizers and the CDC’s partners for their commitment to promoting sustainable practices within Freeport.
“Solid waste management should start at home. Let us start here within the CDC and then go to our locators. We have to move away from what is usual and start educating our people. We must be able to connect a healthy environment with tangible outcomes that resonate with people,” she added.
The Environmental Permits Division (EPD) led by Engr. Erwin Bognot, organized the event and generated a total of P641,545 worth of waste materials. The biggest hauls from this year’s recyclables event include 1,689 pieces of busted fluorescent bulbs and lamps valued at P140,248, 13,762 kilograms of oil-contaminated materials valued at P207,813, and 3,934 kilograms of waste electrical and electronic equipment valued at P66,884.
Environmental partners Dolomatrix Philippines, Inc., ADL Envirotechnology, Inc., Envirocare Management Precision, Inc., and Semirecycling Co., Inc., properly collected and treated the hazardous waste.
Several companies participated in the event as locators, including Yokohama Tire Philippines, Inc., Shore 360, Inc., Royce Hotel and Casino, Iqor Philippines, Inc., Global Gateway Development Corporation (GGDC), Alpha Aviation Group, Acciona-EEI Joint Venture, SFA Semicon Philippines, Luenthai International Group Phils., Inc., Dnata Travel Inc., Clark Water Corporation, SMK Electronics, Yokoisada Phils. Corporation, Quest Plus Conference Center-Clark, Luzon International Premier Airport Development (LIPAD) Corporation, and PLDT Clark, among others.
The RHWCE is the CDC’s continuing commitment to the proper disposal of common toxic and hazardous wastes through DENR-EMB-registered transporters for proper treatment.
