VIEWS AND NEWS: Distribution of tables, chairs to daycare centers

Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on February 22, 2023 continues the distribution of wooden chairs, tables and school supplies to five Child Development Centers in the city.

Mayor Lazatin personally distributed the said school furniture and supplies to Child Development centers in Sto. Rosario, Belen Homesite, Salapungan, San Ignacio, and Holy Spirit.

Apart from the school supplies and school furniture, the students also received Vitamin C and multivitamin supplements.

All parents of enrolled day care students also received grocery packages from the city government. Inside the grocery packages are five kilos of rice and canned goods.

To date, Mayor Lazatin has already delivered school items to 34 day care centers.

The distribution of the new set of wooden chairs and tables in other Child Development Centers in the city will follow suit.

According to Lazatin, 2,213 day care students — 1,062 boys and 1,151 girls — will be provided a wooden chair each. One table, meanwhile, can occupy 6 students.

The wooden tables and chairs that were distributed are locally-produced and made by IBAC Woodcrafts.

Lazatin said this is not just putting premium on the educational programs of the city but also promoting Gawang Angeleño products.

Members of the City Social Welfare and Development Office led by Edna Duaso, City Nutrition Office headed by Jermaine Jam Aguila, and Gender and Development Office led by Mina Cabiles assisted Mayor Lazatin during the distribution.
