FedEx Gateway facility opens in Clark

CLARK FREEPORT — The 17,000-sq state-of-the-art gateway facility of Federal Express (FedEx), a leading American logistics company, has opened in this Freeport.

Equipped with the most modern package handling capabilities available here, the $30-million cargo terminal currently supports 36 weekly flights and is considered as one of the largest facilities in the region.

It could also increase the company’s sorting capabilities to 9,000 documents and parcels per hour.

According to FedEx, the said facility would also reduce delivery time to Northern Luzon by an average of two hours, and would extend the cut-off time for Northern Luzon and Cebu customers.

FedEx Vice President for Southeast Asia Operations Audrey Cheong expressed her gratitude to Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President and CEO Manuel R. Gaerlan for the support in making this milestone happen.
