SEC Tarlac holds one-stop-shop registration in Zambales

The Securities and Exchange Commission–Tarlac Extension Office (SEC-TEO) has brought SEC services to the province of Zambales through a one-stop shop registration for the newly organized civil society organizations (CSOs) of the province last September 22 to 23.

In partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Felipe, a total of 24 CSOs were assisted in the processing of their registration to the commission and in the releasing of their certificates of incorporation. These CSOs are composed of associations of farmers, fisherfolks, barangay health workers, tricycle drivers, public school teachers, indigenous peoples, retired government employees and senior citizens.

On the same occasion, the SEC TEO Director Richard R. Laus and Mayor Reinhard E. Jeresano of the Municipal Government of San Felipe signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) under the SEC Communication, Advocacy, and Network (SEC-CAN) initiative through a resolution passed by the Sangguniang Bayan of San Felipe.

Director Laus said in a statement that the Municipality of San Felipe was the first local government office that became a partner of the SEC TEO in establishing a network that will collectively pursue investor education and advocacy.

He added that this one-stop shop caravan for SEC clients is the first-of-its-kind activity of SEC TEO and it is eyed to be replicated in other LGUs and partner agencies that need the services of SEC.

“We will bring SEC closer to the people,” Laus said.

This initiative also aims to train and capacitate the LGU workers about the online services of SEC who will eventually work to assist their constituents and local investors in dealing with SEC transactions.

Further, Mayor Jeresano expressed his full support for this collaboration that will benefit the people of San Felipe. He also extended his profound gratitude to SEC for pioneering this caravan in their municipality.

Aside from the online registration service, the SEC TEO also assisted the Zambales CSOs on their online submission of the MC 28 form and request for certified true copies (CTC) of SEC documents. (SEC TEO)
