Mayor Lazatin visits 100-yr-old Lolo Ciano
ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. on June 8, 2022 handed over a birthday cake and cash incentive to centenarian Feliciano “Lolo Ciano” Sicat of Barangay Pandan.
Joining Mayor Lazatin during his visit are Executive Assistant V Raffy Angeles, City Social Welfare and Development Officer Edna Duaso, Office for Senior Citizens Affairs Head Eduardo Torres and Gender and Development Officer Mina Cabiles.
Mayor Lazatin asked Lolo Ciano for his secrets in maintaining a healthy body. Lolo Ciano said “eating vegetables is key”, being cautious of what you eat and having little exercise are his secrets.
“Patuloy po nating lilingapin ang kalusugan at kapakanan ng ating mga senior citizens upang mas maging malakas ang kanilang pangangatawan, kagaya po ni Lolo Ciano,” Lazatin said.
One of the priority programs of Mayor Lazatin is to ensure the welfare of senior citizens.
Earlier today, Duaso, Torres, and Judith Manalastas of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region III Office handed over a Certificate of Recognition and P100,000 cash incentive from the national government to Lolo Ciano.
Ever since Lazatin took office in 2019, he has been visiting senior citizens from the 33 baragays house-to-house to distribute P1,000 cash assistance, Vitamin C supplements, and calcium carbonate supplements, especially bedridden elderly.
Even before the pandemic, the Lazatin administration has been giving free vaccines to senior citizens against flu and pneumonia; house-to-house delivery of free medicines for senior citizens; and prioritizing them in the city government’s vaccination program via the comfort of their homes.
