Angeles City hosts Óbrang Bábáyi exhibit
ANGELES CITY – A visual art exhibit featuring the artworks of 19 Angeleña artists was launched by the Angeles city government at SM City Clark in celebration of National Women’s Month.
The exhibit, dubbed “Óbrang Bábáyi”, is open to the public and will run from March 1 to 31.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. led the launch along with Vice Mayor Vicenta Vicky Vega Cabigting, Assistant Mall Manager Officer-in-Charge Lourdes Alarcon, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, City Tourism Officer-in-Charge Anneleen Antonio-Sugui, and Gender and Development Officer Mina Cabiles.
During the ribbon cutting ceremony, Mayor Lazatin said the exhibit aims to help struggling artists get back on their feet amid the new normal setting and to recognize the significant contributions of women in the community.
“Sa mga obra po na ito sumasalamin ang mga katangian at mahahalagang kontribusyon ng mga babae sa lipunan,” Lazatin added.
As the city government marks the celebration of Women’s Month, Lazatin also vows to continue to provide programs that will uplift the welfare of Angeleñas.
“Patuloy po ang paglulunsad natin ng mga programang nangangalaga sa kapakanan at karapatan ng mga babae,” Lazatin furthered.
Among the programs being undertaken for women are livelihood programs, strengthening of women’s desk in the barangay level, the establishment of solo parents affairs, and free health service such as pap smear.
