Fire victims in Malabanias to get P10-K assistance

ANGELES CITY – Seven families from Barangay Malabanias affected by a fire on February 20, 2022 will receive ₱10,000 financial assistance from the city government, while food assistance, hygiene kits, sleeping mats, and blankets have already been distributed to them.

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. instructed the Local Finance Committee — composed of the City Budget Office, City Treasurer’s Office and City Accounting Office — to immediately process the financial assistance, which will come from the Office of the City Mayor’s regular budget.

Meanwhile, the City Social Welfare and Development Office led by Edna Duaso distributed the in-kind assistance to the residents on Feb. 21, 2022.

“Naapektuhan din po ang kabuhayan ng mga kababayan natin dahil sa sunog. Tutulungan po natin sila sa abot ng ating makakaya,” Lazatin said.

Lazatin immediately visited the area affected by the fire yesterday, as soon as the Bureau of Fire Protection – Angeles City declared it as fire out.

Mayor Lazatin also sent a medical team from the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office led by Rodolfo Simeon to check on the health and welfare of the victims.

To recall, this is not the first time that the Lazatin administration ensured the welfare of his kababayans affected by fire.

Some ₱360,000 worth of cash assistance were given then to San Nicolas fire victims in October 2020; ₱10,000 aid each was distributed to 7 families in Lourdes Sur East on November 2021; and three families in San Jose on January 2022.
