Fire victims in San Jose to get P10K assistance
ANGELES CITY – Three families in Barangay San Jose here affected by a fire on January 22, 2022 are to receive ₱10,000 financial assistance as ordered by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.
Aside from the cash assistance, the City Social Welfare and Development Office led by Edna Duaso already distributed food assistance, hygiene kits, banigs, and blankets to the residents on the same day, January 22.
As instructed by Mayor Lazatin, the Local Finance Committee — composed of the City Budget Office, City Treasurer’s Office and City Accounting Office — will immediately process the financial assistance, which will come from the Office of the City Mayor’s regular budget.
Mayor Lazatin also sent a medical team from the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office led by Rodolfo Simeon to check on the health and welfare of the victims.
“Maliit na tulong lamang po ito para sa mga kababayan nating naapektuhan ng sunog. Our office will always be open for their needs,” Lazatin said.
To recall, this is not the first time that the Lazatin administration ensured the welfare of his kababayans affected by fire.
Some ₱360,000 worth of cash assistance were given then to San Nicolas fire victims last October 2020 while ₱10,000 aid were also distributed to 7 families in Lourdes Sur East in November 2021.
