Village chiefs back solar panel rollout in 33 barangay halls

ANGELES CITY – The Association of Barangay Captains, led by President Danilo Nacu, has officially expressed unwavering support for the groundbreaking initiative of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. to install solar panels in all 33 barangay halls in the city.
Recognizing the long-term environmental and financial benefits, Nacu commended the administration of Mayor Lazatin for its commitment to eco-friendly innovations aimed at improving local governance.

“We fully support this initiative and commend Mayor Lazatin’s administration for prioritizing innovative and eco-friendly solutions for the city,” said Nacu. “This project is a testament to the forward-thinking leadership that continues to benefit not only the barangays but the entire city of Angeles.”
Barangay Mining Captain Lester Hernandez echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the significant impact the solar panel installation will have in reducing electricity costs.
Hernandez highlighted that the savings generated from lower energy consumption would enable the barangay to reallocate funds toward other essential services.

“This is a wonderful project that has been implemented in the barangays. With the savings from reduced energy costs, we can allocate funds to other pressing needs of the barangay and improve basic services that will directly benefit our residents,” Hernandez remarked. “On behalf of the barangay council, we express our sincere appreciation to Mayor Lazatin for this invaluable contribution to the community. Once again, thank you very much.”
Similarly, Barangay Sto. Rosario Captain Renato Cosme praised the solar initiative, recognizing its dual purpose in both reducing electricity expenditures and promoting environmental sustainability. On behalf of the Sto. Rosario Council, Cosme extended gratitude to Mayor Lazatin for his administration’s proactive approach to sustainable development.
“We deeply appreciate the leadership and vision of Mayor Lazatin, who continues to invest in projects that reduce costs and environmental impact,” said Cosme. “This solar panel installation is a significant step toward a greener and more cost-efficient future for our barangay.”

Barangay Pulungbulu Captain Lorna Zabala, along with the members of the Sangguniang Barangay, also expressed heartfelt thanks to Mayor Lazatin for selecting their barangay as a beneficiary of the solar panel installation program.
“Taos puso po akong nagpapasalamat kasama ang miyembro ng Sangguniang Barangay ng Pulungbulu, sa ating mahal na Mayor Lazatin dahil isa ang aming barangay na nabigyan o nalagyan ng solar panels dahil napakalaking tulong po nito sa maraming bagay,” said Zabala.
Barangay Ninoy Aquino Captain John Terry Halili underscored the significance of the solar panel installation, calling it one of the most impactful projects under Mayor Lazatin’s leadership. He commended the mayor’s sustained dedication to improving the lives of the residents across all barangays.
“Our deepest gratitude to Mayor Lazatin for his continued support and commitment to improving our barangay. The solar panel installation is just one of the many projects he has brought to us, proving his dedication to uplifting every community in Angeles City,” Halili said.
