Angeles City recognized as 2023 high performing peace and order council in Central Luzon

ANGELES CITY — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has honored the city government here as a High Performing Peace and Order Council (POC) in Central Luzon for the calendar year 2023.
This recognition underscores the administration of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.’s commitment to maintaining peace, safety, and security for its residents.
Mayor Lazatin expressed his gratitude to the DILG for the acknowledgment and commended the collective efforts of the Angeles City Police Office, barangay officials, and city government employees and key offices.
Mayor Lazatin emphasized that this achievement reflects the city’s dedication to upholding law and order, ensuring a secure environment for all Angeleños.
“Saksi ang parangal na ito sa ating nagkakaisang pagsisikap na tiyakin ang ligtas at seguradong kapaligiran para sa bawat Angeleño. Patuloy nating uunahin ang kapayapaan at kaayusan upang maisulong ang progreso at pagkakaisa sa ating siyudad,” Lazatin said.
The DILG’s POC Performance Audit evaluates councils based on organization, meetings, policies, plans, budget, general supervision, and innovation.
Angeles City’s high functionality rating in these areas highlights its effective governance and proactive initiatives in addressing peace and order concerns.
This accolade follows the city’s consecutive receipt of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) in previous years, further affirming its commitment to excellence in public service and governance.
Mayor Lazatin reiterated his administration’s pledge to continue implementing programs and strategies that promote peace, safety, and the well-being of all residents for a safer and more progressive city.
The said POC recognition is the 39th award of the city government under the leadership of Mayor Lazatin.
