Angeles City achieves top 5 spot in Most Improved LGUs nationwide for 2024
ANGELES CITY — For the third time in a row, the city government under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has garnered national recognition for its outstanding governance and commitment to improvement, ranking 5th in the “Most Improved Local Government Units (LGU)” category for highly urbanized cities (HUC).
This after the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) released the results for the 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI).
This achievement follows a previous CMCI award in 2019, when the city was recognized as the 2nd Most Improved HUC, and another in 2022, when it held the 5th spot as well.
“We are honored to be recognized once again in the Top 10 for most improved cities, as this reflects the city government’s efforts in improving public services and a progressive community for Angeleños,” Mayor Lazatin expressed.
The awarding for the said recognition will be on November 11, 2024, at SMX Clark in Clark Freeport Zone.
The CMCI awarding ceremony is a yearly event honoring the achievements of cities and municipalities in advancing their competitiveness. These awards showcase the unwavering commitment of LGUs to sustainable growth and innovation.
