Angeles City to construct 13,000 affordable housing units in Barangay Mining
In an effort to address the housing needs of residents, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. has announced plans to construct 13,000 affordable housing units in Barangay Mining.
A Pag-IBIG desk will be established in the city hall starting July 3, 2023 in conjunction with the project to provide ease of registration for those who are interested to avail housing units.
Mayor Lazatin confirmed the signing of agreement with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) for the housing project during his State of the City Address (SOCA) on Thursday, June 29, 2023.
“Our efforts to provide decent housing for our constituents, including government workers and teachers, will continue as we identify new areas where we can construct more affordable housing units,” Lazatin asserted.
The housing project will consist of 12 buildings with 22 storeys, and will be established to accommodate the qualified beneficiaries.
Lazatin said this is a landmark project and milestone for Angeles City, through the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., providing decent housing development for his kababayans.
Angeles City is among the beneficiaries for the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program of the DHSUD.
Mayor Lazatin furthered that this is an opportunity of a lifetime for his cabalens to have decent housing, making Angeles City a part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s “1 million housing units per year”.
