AFP unveils entry for Belenismo sa Tarlac 2022
TARLAC CITY — Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) unveiled its entry for this year’s Belenismo sa Tarlac under the Grand Non-Municipal Category.
Senior Defense Undersecretary Jose Faustino Jr. congratulated the soldiers and officers of the Armor Division for the construction of the AFP Belen which embodies the core values of the current administration.
“The AFP in the Belenismo sa Tarlac 2022 contest brings to the forefront the need now more than ever for unity, anchored on faith, love, hope, kindness and compassion as espoused by our commander-in-chief, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.,” Faustino said.
He noted that the creative presentation of the belen, which features the nativity scene in a massive castle, reflects the real definition of teamwork.
Moreover, Faustino urged the soldiers to strive in delivering quality service to the Filipino people, and to remain focused and motivated in securing the country.
“Like this beautiful castle, your Department of National Defense shall project a strengthened, sensible approach to foreign relations among our neighbors in the region and the rest of the world, one that promotes Maritime Domain Awareness and Security while advancing the country’s interest internationally on security and defense,” he stated.
He also enjoined the public to celebrate Christmas and New Year by extending a helping hand to those who are in need.
“Together, let us face 2023 as one—one people, one nation, united in purpose to make the Philippines a better place for every Filipino,” Faustino stressed.
Meanwhile, Armor Division will also join for the first time this year and has its separate entry under the Monumental Category.
Tarlac province is known as the “Belen Capital of the Philippines” featuring various municipal, monumental, organizational and community presentations of Belen.
The competition was launched in 2007 as a Department of Tourism calendar event.
