MNA 2022 crown symbolizes ‘power of rebirth’
ANGELES CITY — A mythical bird with the power of healing and rebirth is the inspiration behind the crown in this year’s Mutya Ning Angeles.
This would be the look of the crown, specially designed and crafted by Cholo Ayuyao.
“The crown will be made of crystals, rhinestone and faux pearls, emulating a Phoenix rising from the ashes of the pandemic – that the crown will serve as a symbol of a city emerging from a humbling experience and has since been healing itself,” Ayuyao elaborated further.
Ayuyao, who is in the fashion and arts industry for 20 years now, said the inspiration also came from the fire and passion of the administration of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., especially in supporting their industry amid the pandemic.
According to Ayuyao, more than the pageant, what is more inspiring was the initiative of the city government in showcasing what it has to offer after more than two years of stagnation because of the pandemic.
“With that, thank you very much to the administration of Mayor Lazatin and the MNA working committee led by Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel for keeping on supporting us through your programs,” Ayuyao said.
The MNA 2022 pageant is set on Dec. 8, 2022 and its candidates were formally introduced on Oct. 3, 2022 through a press conference.
This is another priority project of Mayor Lazatin in cooperation with its co-presenter Beautéderm Corporation.
