70 families from Anunas get certificates of lot

ANGELES CITY – A total of 70 families from Barangay Anunas will finally have decent homes after their certificates of lot were distributed by the city government here on April 25.

Continuing to provide decent housing to informal settler families, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. personally handed over the certificates of lot to the informal settler-beneficiaries with Vice Mayor Vicenta “Vicky” Vega-Cabigting, City Councilors Atty. Arvin “Pogs” Suller, Marino “Niknok” Bañola, Jesus “Jay” Sangil, Raco Del Rosario, and JC Aguas.

The 9,575-square meter lot, owned by the Rural Bank, was purchased for ₱2.8 million in 2015 during the stint of Former Mayor Edgardo “EdPam” Pamintuan.

“Napakahalaga po ng araw na ito para sa ating mga kababayan dito sa Anunas, dahil ngayon po, hawak na nila ang kanilang certificate of lot,” Lazatin said.

Lazatin also shared that he will continue working hand-in-hand with the Sangguniang Panlungsod headed by Vice Mayor Vega-Cabigting, in providing permanent homes to the underprivileged and finally eradicating informal settling in the city.

Part of the flagship programs of the Lazatin administration is decent housing and land for urban poor families.

According to Councilor Suller, the lot was divided among the 70 indigent families, depending on the on-site measurement of their houses.

For his part, Magkaka-Akbay Association president Michael Felices, also one of the beneficiaries, said the administration of Mayor Lazatin continually made efforts to resolve their housing problem for seven years, even as he also cited the efforts of former Mayor Pamintuan.

To recall, this is not the first time that the Lazatin administration assisted in the relocation of informal settler-families in Angeles City.

On February 2022, 3,000 families in Amsic were relocated on-site; 485 displaced families in Margot got P7,000 cash aid and relocation in Sapangbato; 30 indigent families in Barangay Malabanias and 200 informal settler-families in Barangay Cutud received certificates of lot on April 2022.
