The SM Store shares shoes in Central Luzon

Sharing is good for the soul — and the sole, as exemplified in The SM Store Share Shoes Program.

Part of the continuing commitment of SM Foundation is anchored on its founding principle of “People Helping People” and with The SM Store, more than 55,000 pairs of leather shoes were turned over to partner beneficiaries in Central Luzon.

Through the years, the Share Shoes project has collected more than 40,000 pairs of shoes which have been donated to students and families in need.

For the culture of giving and purposeful sharing, The SM Store through SM Foundation Operation Tulong Express distributed more than 55,000 brand new leather Parisian shoes for children, women and plus size (with assortment in all sizes kids 30-35 and 5 to 12) to various grassroots communities through The SM Store branches in Pampanga, Clark, Tarlac and Cabanatuan.

The SM Store branches in Pampanga, San Fernando Downtown and Telabastagan turned over 24,199 pairs of shoes and more than a thousand hand sanitizers to government partners.

Representatives from The SM Store Pampanga led by Assistant Vice President Lei Alice Gonzales, Mall Manager Aaron Montenegro, Marketing Manager Yeng Alberto and Department Manager Vincee Mallari turned over the donations to Department of Social Welfare and Development Region III represented by Sustainable Livelihood Program focal person Ferdinand Jorge Canlas.

Meanwhile, SM Store San Fernando Downtown Assistant Branch Manager Caroline Uaje and Selling Manager Joanne Bernardino turned over donations to Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Region III (TESDA3) headed by Regional Director Balmyrson Valdez and Provincial Director Eric Ueda.

St Isidore ‘the Farmer’ Learning Center Inc. owner Engineer Romeo Cordova received the donations from The SM Store Telabastagan Selling Supervisor for Shoes Karen Carmen and RDU Manager Chiffer Canlas, respectively.

The SM Store Clark also turned over 10,960 pair of shoes and more than 500 bottles of hand sanitizers to Department of Social Welfare and Development Region III represented by Canlas. They were assisted by Philippine Air Force under the command of Major Capt. Jerson Sadsad and The SM Store Clark Branch Marketing Manager Crissan Del Rosario and Mall Manager Jerwin Jalandoni.

At The SM Store Tarlac, Caritas Tarlac received 8,000 pair of shoes which were distributed to different parishes, civic and religious organizations and a Catholic school in the diocese.

Over at The SM Store Cabanatuan and Megacenter, a total of 12,695 pairs of brand new leather shoes and more than 500 bottles of hand sanitizers were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region III again represented by Canlas.

Starting as a humble shoe store 60 years ago, popularly known as ShoeMart, the company continues to reach out to the community where SM has malls. As a way of giving back, SM Supermalls launched this project to give hope to kids who are the future leaders of this country.
