Angeles City starts giving booster shots to residents via schedule

ANGELES CITY — The Angeles City government has started the inoculation of fully vaccinated Angeleños from barangays Agapito Del Rosario, Amsic, Anunas, Balibago, and Capaya for booster shots on January 6, 2022 via Sundo Bakuna sa Barangay program.

These eligible Angeleños have received their second dose of vaccines last March to July 4, 2021, according to Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.

Mayor Lazatin said the city is fully prepared for the vaccination of booster shots, having 400 working staff in the vaccination team led by IC Calaguas, Lazatin’s Chief Adviser and the chief implementer of the city government’s vaccination program.

Calaguas said the vaccination of booster shots will be done via designated schedule per barangay at the two mega vaccination sites in the City College of Angeles and Angeles City National High School.

Calaguas also explained that after the designated schedule of those who were already fully vaccinated on July 4, the city will again go per barangay. This is to maintain the observance of safety health protocols upon vaccination.

“Sinusundo po via jeepney or bus ang mga residente sa mga barangays para ihatid po sa CCA o ACNHS,” Calaguas said.

All schedules and vaccine updates will be posted on the official Facebook page of the City Information Office, Calaguas says.

According to City Health Officer Dr. Verona Guevarra, the city has sufficient supply of booster shots coming from the National Vaccination Operation Center.

“Recipients just have to present their issued vaccination cards,” Guevarra shared.

To date, 2,784 Angeleños already got their booster shots.

Records from the vaccination operation center show that there are 331,147 Angeleños who received their first dose of vaccines while 292,680 are already fully vaccinated.
