CIAC adds sentry posts at aviation complex

CLARK FREEPORT ZONE – To augment security measures in the area, six guardhouse units were recently installed at various entry points of the Clark civil aviation complex.

Aaron Aquino, president of the Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC), said both the agency’s security and engineering departments were directed to install a total of eight sentry posts to be manned 24/7.

“We’re also in the process of hiring supplementary guards, as part of our augmented measures to deter theft especially at isolated buildings of locators in the area and to also prevent the incursion of informal settlers,” Aquino added.

The CIAC chief noted his office regularly coordinates with officials of the Clark Development Corp. and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority on security protocols especially in development areas inside the Freeport.

CIAC is geared towards establishing a world-class logistics and service hub at the aviation complex, home to the privately-run Clark International Airport (CRK) as well as the mixed-use business district Clark Global City and around 45 locators engaged in cargo and aviation-related businesses.
