Clark trade fair to showcase goods from GenSan, Region 3

CLARK FREEPORT – Get a taste of local goods and products not only from Region 3 but also General Santos City during a tourism and trade expo to be held in this Freeport from December 17 to 19, 2021.

The trade fair is a partnership between the Clark Development Corporation (CDC), Local Government Unit (LGU) of General Santos City, and Subic Clark Alliance for Development (SCAD).

Dubbed as “CL-SOX Tourism and Trade Expo” with a theme “more than an exchange”, it aims to enhance trade, investment, and tourism activities between Central and Northern Luzon, SOCCSKSARGEN, and other foreign markets.

The activity is also an offshoot of the Memorandum of Understanding between CDC and GenSan which was signed last October.

According to USAID SURGE Project Gensan Former City Program Coordinator Gemma Boreros, they wanted to create meaningful initiatives as part of their partnership and cooperation with CDC.

“We wanted to translate the partnership into reality so, with the leadership of Ma’am Amee Fabros and President Manuel R. Gaerlan himself, we came up with this trade fair,” she said.

Meanwhile, SCAD Executive Director Atty. Amee Fabros encouraged the guests and tourists in this Freeport to visit the said trade fair.

“You will experience a diverse showcase of products that we don’t really often see here. In fact, we will also link the tourism associations of General Santos City to our region (Central Luzon),” she added.

Other agencies who supported this initiative are the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Tourism (Regions 3 and 12), Greater Clark Visitors Bureau (GCVB), Hotels and Restaurants Associations in Pampanga (HARPA), GenSan Producers Association, and Fresh Frozen Association of GenSan.

The province of Pampanga as well as the cities of Angeles, Mabalacat, and San Fernando have also pledged their support for the trade fair.

The activity will run for three days and will be set in front of the Mangan Tamu Food Park, from 4 pm to 11 pm.  It will feature around 50 exhibitors and concessionaires.

Local products of South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani (SOCCSKSARGEN) as well as delicacies and specialties from Northern and Central Luzon will be available at the said event.
