CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda and his mother, Vice Gov. Lilia “Nanay Baby’ Pineda, have filed their respective certificate of candidacy (COC) for reelection and they appealed for
unity among the local officials of Pampanga.

Dennis stressed the incumbent and aspiring leaders should work together to ensure the delivery of services even if they going up against each other.

“We will still prioritize health care service. A healthy community ensures a strong economy,“ said Dennis who filed his COC on October 7 along with mother. They are both seeking a second term.

Lilia, in her speech before the four congressmen of Pampanga and majority of the mayors, said he would ask the governor to let her handle the 10 districts hospitals of the province.

“This is to ensure that the district hospitals will serve well the people, especially the poor,” she said in the dialect.

Earlier, the vice governor announced that the district hospitals of Pampanga have started to accept people afflicted with Covid 19. She said “there is still lots of work to do amid the pandemic that’s why I decided to run again.”

Pineda also urged candidates from the towns and cities to avoid mudslinging and instead present their plans and programs for their respective constituents.

Dennis is going up against former Candaba Mayor Danilo Baylon. Lilia is also being reportedly challenged by an ally Baylon.

Candaba Mayor Rene Maglanque downplayed the chances of Baylon of scoring an upset win against Dennis.

“Three times Baylon was rejected by the people of Candaba when he ran for mayor. Now, he is asking for the support of Pampanga voters? Baylon has no chance at all,” said Magalanque who accompanied the Pinedas when they filed their COCs.

Baylon ran for mayor four times and only won in 2016.
