312 Aeta families in AC to receive kabuhayan, food assistance
ANGELES CITY — Some 312 Aeta families will be receiving ₱2,000 kabuhayan assistance, food packages and seedlings from the city government led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.
This is in line with the city’s celebration of Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month this October, set to be held in Barangay Sapangbato.
“Ito pong ipinapamigay ng siyudad ay bilang tulong sa mga kababayan nating naapektuhan ang kabuhayan sa gitna ng pandemya, lalo na para sa ating mga IPs,” Lazatin said.
Mina Cabiles, Gender and Development Officer-in-Charge, said that among the beneficiaries are 106 families in Sitio Babo; 52 in Sitio Bliss; and 155 in Sitio Target.
Apart from the kabuhayan financial assistance, food aid, and seedlings, the 312 families will also be receiving face masks, condensed and evaporated milk.
“Sinisiguro po ni Mayor Lazatin na mahatiran ng tulong ang mga kababayan nating IP, at mapangalagaan ang kanilang kapakanan,” Cabiles said. “This will not start and end only during IP month celebration.”
In fact, 168 Aetas from Barangay Sapangbato have already been vaccinated via the Sundo Bakuna program launched by Mayor Lazatin.
Last 2020, the IPs also received milk assistance, mosquito net, and food packages from the city government.
